Marcia Gruce: St. Augustine Medal of Honor Recipient

Marcia Gruce - St. Augustine Medal of Honor Recipient A very wonderful event happened at the Cathedral on Saturday, November 3rd. Bishop Lori recognized the Saint Augustine Medal of Honor recipients for 2007. The award recipent from Saint Patrick Church was our Director of Religious Education, Marcia Gruce.
Marcia was the perfect choice for the award. In addition to managing our Religious Education Program (whose efforts in this area are too numerous to list), Marcia is an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, a Lector and a daily communicant at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Additionally, Marica is involved in our daily Morning Prayer group that meets before the 7:30 a.m. Mass and participates in group recitation of the Rosary after Mass. She is always signed up for whatever needs to be done in the parish. She visits Northbridge Nursing Home twice a month for Communion Services and recitation of the Rosary.
Marcia is on the Parish Council, RCIA New Vision Program, Picnic Committee, and is involved in youth activities and many other efforts in our parish. In fact, if it is for the enhancement of Saint Patrick Church, Marcia is there. There are many needs in the parish that Marcia addresses quietly, and it is through these kindnesses that charity to others is accomplished. Time, Talent and Treasure are the foundation of Marcia’s commitment to her God, her faith and her parish.
We are most proud of her and wish many more years of ministry at Saint Patrick Church.
