About Our Prayer Line

The Saint Patrick Prayer Line Team is a growing community of some forty-plus clergy and active volunteers who are willing to go to bat for you daily and add volume (spiritually speaking) to your request(s) for Grace.

We are here to help and you can add your Prayer Request by either completing our online form or by calling 203.335.0106 ext.12 - both of which protect your privacy and allow for anonymous Prayer Line Requests.

The Prayer Line is a FREE service and works much like a phone tree where Prayer Line Captains receive your Prayer Request, then circulate that request to the other Prayer Line Team Members.

You don't have to be a member of our Parish or even Catholic to ask for a Prayer Request - we are all God's Children and we honor all faiths, nationalities, et al.

Originally, we had only a phone tree solution but now are using the web and email to provide faster response.

What is a Prayer Line

In essence, we pray for you, your loved ones, and/or those for whom you request prayers.

Prayer Requests can run the gamut from praying for career success for those going out on a job interview to praying for those who are fighting a disease.

If it is important to you, it is important to us.

We pray for World Peace, for those who are chained, for those who are abused, for those who are hungry, for those who are scared, for those who harbor hatred, for those who are lonely, for those who are lost, for those who serve in the Armed Forces, for those who govern the laws of men, for those who inspire positive change, for those seeking the strength to love, the strength to forgive, and for the power to change.

We also pray for pets and the health of all animals who share our planet whether they walk our lands, live in the air, or share our seas. We pray for Mother Nature and the return of healthy water, air and balance between all living things.

We pray for souls who have passed on and the new ones yet unborn.

We pray for forgiveness and we pray to say thanks for all our blessings.

How Does a Prayer Line Work

Consider Matthew 18:19 (Chapter 18 - Verse 19), "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

Thus a Prayer Line is a team - one that comes together in spirit and in the silence of their prayers they send forth to Heaven.

It is not about Santa Claus God - e.g., "Hey God, I'm praying for stuff like a new Ferrari or to win the lotto" but instead about praying for our Highest Good - that option that serves us, and others, in the best, most efficient manner, according to His Will - because ultimately it is all about "His Will Be Done" and we don't pretend to know "His Will" but continue to pray and give it our best ongoing efforts to inspire His Grace on your behalf!

And, a team is not necessarily needed and yes, we can pray for ourselves. God knows our intention the moment we utter our prayer(s) and they are immediately considered by His Almighty in realtime.

Yet just as Matthew verse 19 suggests, there is a certain power of multiplication when we humans "put our heads together" or more aptly worded, "put our hearts together" and focus on the needs of our brothers and sisters.

We are taught that we are all One - that God does not see competition - that He sees us all equally and loves us equally. Thus when we pray for our enemies, in essence we are praying that God heals them and helps them. Now fast forward, imagine our enemies receive God's Grace - guess what, now they are a lot less likely to be mean to us, to hurt us thus by praying for them, we have indeed prayed for ourselves and as the lives of our enemies are improved, so are our own lives improved.

Some people call it Karma - e.g., what goes around comes around. Others have different names.

We know from Jesus and His legions of Saints, that God knows best and hears all of our prayers, from the most humble of one, to the silent roar of thousands of us praying, He hears us all and aren't we lucky to be blessed with such a Loving Host who listens and responds with Grace!
